Q: What are your favorite things about
shooting Sporting Clays?
A: Shooting the wide variety of target
presentations and different clubs around the country.
Q: What is your favorite shooting venue?
A: Hopkins Game Farm and Claythorne Lodge
Q: What has been your favorite shoot/event?
A: The US Open has been my favorite event of
the year because it is held at the best organized shooting clubs in the country
in a different place every year.
Q: What is your favorite target presentation?
A: Teal!
Q: What is your least favorite target
presentation?
A: For me, long right to left crossers seem
to give me the greatest challenge.
Q: What do you feel is your greatest challenge in
Sporting?
A: Since moving up to Master class a couple
years ago, it has been very difficult competing at that level with all the
professional shooters when I am able to practice only once or twice a month!!
Shooting at a very high level takes being able to shoot and shoot a lot!!
Q: What do you feel is your biggest
accomplishment with regards to Sporting Clays?
A: Moving up through the classes to Master
Class.
Q: What, if any, are your Sporting Clays goals?
A: Arizona State Champion!!!!!!!
Q: Do you shoot sub-gauge events?
A: No.
Q: What is the one "gizmo" you find
most useful when shooting?
A: I have an ISIS recoil pad on my 391 and I
love it!!
Q: What advice would you give to someone just
starting out?
A: My advice would be for anyone starting out
or even if you have been shooting for a while, is to have a gun that fits; so go
to a gunfitter such as Wenig or Bobs Custom Guns and have a stock made so that
the gun shoots where you look. I had a stock made at Wenig's in Missouri and I
feel it greatly helped me with mounting the gun the same every time and shooting
where I was pointing the gun. This definitely helped me move up through the
classes. Second, find a shooting coach that can help you with a style of
shooting that you are comfortable with and stick with it. Even the best golfers
in the world have a coach, we as shooters should also have a coach. My wife and
I have just recently started working with Gebben Miles and I know now that we
should have done this along time ago!!
Q: Anything else we should know?
A: If any of you fellow shooters need a
dentist, please don't hesitate to call my office at Arizona Dental Group
480-657-6000. |
